I've been going nutso for a couple days with this error. Yours was the first blog that I found that mentioned that you need to do the detach/reattach via Central Admin or using the stsadm command. I was detaching and reattaching the database many times on my SQL Server and it wasn't helping at all. This did the trick. Thank you very much.
